Janatha Aragalaya: How Sri Lanka Ousted A President

For over six months, Sri Lankans have been protesting; a collapsing economy forced people to the streets, leading to clashes with police and the armed forces. The resultant political and social shakeup caused extreme turbulence, and although the Sri Lankan people   ousted a President, their struggle for cleaner government is far from over.

Editor’s note: The video erroneously reports that President (then prime minister) Ranil Wickremesinghe’s residence was set on fire on 13 July. The incident took place on 09 July.
