Two New Snake Species Discovered In Knuckles

Leading herpetologist Mendis Wickramasinghe has been credited with discovering two  species of snakes in the Knuckles mountain range. The Aspidurai desilvai and the Rhinophis gunasekarai, are endemic to the area and face many risks to their survival as a result of human activity and environmental damage.
