“The best images are the ones that retain their strength and impact over the years, regardless of the number of times they are viewed.” – Anne Geddes
Nothing takes you back in time like a dusty, vintage photograph. It’s strange yet, fascinating to look back and see what has changed and at the same time, appreciate those things that have remained the same. This photo story is a curated collection of images taken in Wellawatta (circa 1981) that reveal lost and forgotten moments from our past. Each of these powerful photographs represents a story, captured in time yet, in many ways timeless.
We hope to bring new life to these images and the history they represent by sharing them with our audiences far and wide. How much has changed, and what, if anything, has remained the same?
