Success: How Sri Lanka Eliminated Mother-To-Child HIV Transmission
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) spreads in three ways: through unprotected sexual intercourse, through blood, and from Mother-To-Child (MTCT). And while advanced an HIV, or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is not curable, HIV can be controlled, and Sri Lanka recently scored a big victory in the battle against the disease by eliminating mother-to-child transmission of the disease.
