How Can Children Be Prepared For A Lifetime Of Learning?

Completing 20 years of improving Early Childhood Care and Development in Sri Lanka, Piyawara has helped over 100,000 children reach their full potential in preschool. Here’s why learning through activity is far more beneficial to young children. In 2002, HOF launched Piyawara with a goal to apply a holistic approach to early childhood care and development for children under the age of five. Launched in partnership with the Children’s Secretariat of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, the initiative enables a growing number of these children to benefit from 46 Piyawara preschools established across the country.
In addition, Piyawara focuses on teacher training, parental awareness, empowering children with disabilities, emergency intervention during disasters, and curtailing child abuse by creating awareness in collaboration with law enforcement.
