High Literacy, Low English Proficiency

As a nation, we have taken pride in the fact that our literacy rate is very high—in fact, the highest in Asia. And yet, test results by the European language and travel school ‘Europeiska Ferieskolan’ rank Sri Lanka ‘Low’ in English Proficiency.
