Google I/O is an annual developer conference hosted by the search engine giant, and featuring a large number of announcements from Google’s many divisions. While much of the event targets developers, Google I/O offers a sneak peek into all things Google, which can be fascinating for anyone interested in the sprawling internet empire that is Google.
This year’s I/O will specifically focus on platforms such as Android, on development for Android, mobile payment innovations, and on Internet of Things. On the menu for I/O will be announcements on Google Assistant, AI, and VR, and news on Pixel devices. There will also be a lot to hear about Google’s IoT efforts as innovation moves past smartphones and into smart ‘things’. Google Home will feature prominently at the conference, as will Daydream VR, Android apps on Chrome OS, and Android Wear. It all promises to be very exciting.
While most people around the world cannot attend the conference held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre Mountain View, California, I/O Extended events are hosted around the world to bring together local developer communities to experience the I/O keynote speech and the sessions with each other in real-time across the globe.
