Tying up the series on photographs of Sri Lanka by foreign photographers is Chris Sorensen. Interestingly, most Chris’ career was spent in front of the lens as a model and an actor. But having worked with professional photographers Chris learnt more about photography and discovered he enjoyed time behind the lens as well. Once bitten by the photography bug almost 8 years ago, there was no turning back.
Chris has since travelled to many countries and shot amazing photographs. And that’s not just our opinion; he was awarded the 2014 Communication Arts Photo Annual. He was also one of the chosen winners for American Photography 30, and the Grand Prize winner of the 2013 PDN Faces photo competition and a Finalist in the 2013 Kuala Lumpur International Photo Awards.
Chris’ style of photography is bright and vivid, and he’s certainly captured the vibrancy of Sri Lankan life in his collection on our paradise island.

- Mostly shot at a distance, photographs of the stilt fishers are more often than not landscape shots of figures standing/sitting on stilts in the sea with their fishing rods held out. Here’s a closer, more human take on stilt fishermen
